Key Points For Operating A DC Brushed Miniature Vacuum Pump

Nov 27, 2025

DDC brushed miniature vacuum pumps are widely used in laboratory analysis, medical testing, and light industrial automation due to their compact structure and ease of control. Proper operation not only ensures the equipment performs as expected but also effectively extends its service life and reduces the failure rate.

Before operation, check the power supply and pump appearance. Confirm that the power supply voltage matches the pump's rated value and that the polarity is correct to avoid damage to the motor or circuit due to reverse connection. Inspect the pump casing, inlet, and outlet for cleanliness, absence of obstructions or obvious damage, and ensure the inlet and outlet valves can open and close freely. If the pump has been unused for a long time, manually rotate the shaft several times to ensure there is no jamming before powering on.

Start-up should follow a gradual approach. It is recommended to first connect the power and run it briefly to observe for any abnormal noises, odors, or vibrations, and check the vacuum gauge or flow meter readings. Preheating for several minutes under no-load or low-load conditions allows lubrication and temperature distribution to stabilize before gradually connecting to actual operating conditions. During operation, avoid prolonged operation exceeding the rated vacuum or flow rate to prevent motor overload and excessive temperature rise.

When connecting to the gas circuit system, ensure the pipe seals and diameter are compatible. Insufficient pipe diameter increases flow resistance and noise, while excessive diameter may exacerbate pulsation. Use appropriate seals at joints to prevent leakage and weaken the vacuum effect. For media that may contain dust, oil mist, or corrosive components, install a filter or separator at the inlet to prevent particles from entering the pump chamber and accelerating wear or corrosion of components.

When shutting down, first remove the load and allow the pump to run briefly under no-load or low-pressure conditions to expel residual gas and equalize internal pressure, then disconnect the power. In humid environments or environments with large temperature differences, it is recommended to maintain ventilation or take moisture-proof measures after shutdown to prevent condensation from affecting the brushes and commutator.

Daily operation records should be kept, including start-up time, running time, vacuum changes, and any abnormal phenomena, to facilitate the development of appropriate maintenance plans. By following the steps above, the performance advantages of DC brushed micro vacuum pumps can be fully utilized while ensuring safety, thereby improving the stability and reliability of system operation.
